FIM RECAP: New York Fashion Week

Fashion Week madness equaled endless blocks of taxi rides; slowly moving shuttles between Lincoln Center and Milk Studios, the latter a satellite venue for less established designers; lines of exhausted editors wearing the highest of heels awaiting call time; and miles and miles of runway fashions — some fantastic, some not so much. Standouts included Catherine Malandrino, who delivered a line that was romantic sans saccharine, Monique Lhuillier, whose “Garden of Eden” collection was well-edited and breathtakingly beautiful, and Prabal Gurung. Good news is spring is looking rosy, regardless what designer you’ll be coveting next year. Get ready for some high-waisted pants that flare out at the bottom and splashes of red apple seen throughout most collections. And keep your eyes out for Abbey Lee Kershaw, a model represented by Next and Fashion Week’s runway darling. We’re hearing a Cover Girl contract is in the works. - Anetta Nowosielska
