Der Kampfer de Large

Suzy Wong

The incomparable, Berlin-based Jonathan Meese will be showcasing his sculptures at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami as of December 1. Don’t miss our interview with this irreverent and visionary artist in our November issue — it’ll likely be one of the most puzzling art stories you’ve read this year. [Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Despite the overwhelming Snooki look-a-likes waiting for LIV to open at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, a decidedly more fashionable event took place at the resort, away from the aforementioned flashy nightclub. The always glamorous Bal Harbour Shops brought the first ever U.S. runway show for Lanvin this past Saturday, benefiting the Project: New Born Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The lavish event — complete with a silent auction, dinner, entertainment and dancing — certainly upped the ante of high fashion in Miami. Check out our video for a peek into the label’s Spring 2011 looks.

Rod and Brooke Shields

FIM Design Director Rodrigo Ruiz strikes a million-dollar smile after encountering a particularly vibrant (and really quite sinewy) Brooke Shields at the recent grand opening of the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami. Adorable, those two. - Omar Sommereyns
